Tackling Boat Woes: A Bilge Pump Adventure

Ep13 The cockpit is full of water! - https://youtu.be/aOCX9NvtfsY

Hey everyone,

Today was one of those days where boat maintenance took center stage, and boy, did we have our hands full. Let me walk you through the chaos.

It all started with the dreaded realization that our cockpit was filling up with water. Not exactly the situation you want to find yourself in when you're out on the water. So, with determination in our hearts, we set out to fix the issue.

The culprit? A clogged bilge pump. Yep, it was clogged up enough to cause water to back up into the cockpit. Not ideal, to say the least.

With our trusty tools in hand, we got to work. First up, removing the poop bladder. No, not the most glamorous task, but a necessary one if we wanted to access the bilge pump.

After some investigation, we discovered that the drain was the root of the problem. It was pumping water up high, only for it to come right back down due to a blockage.

Next came the real challenge: unclogging the bilge pump. Armed with a 25-foot snake, we set out to tackle the blockage head-on. And let me tell you, it wasn't easy. But after some persistence and a few choice words, we managed to clear the blockage and get the pump working again.

As the water began to flow freely once more, a sense of relief washed over us. Another boat woe conquered, another day on the water saved.

So, there you have it, folks. A day in the life of boat owners, where the unexpected is always just around the corner. But hey, that's all part of the adventure, right?

Until next time,
