Breaking things, welding, and eating tamales

Ep 72 Keep your eye on the goal! - https://youtu.be/jaDRTu2rfv4

Hey there, folks. Another week aboard Spoondrifter, another set of challenges and triumphs to tackle. Let's dive right in.

So, last week was a bit of a mixed bag. We managed to break Teaspoon's trailer, which wasn't exactly the highlight of our week. But hey, every setback is just another opportunity to learn, right? We ended up buying a welder to try our hand at fixing it ourselves – a decision that turned out to be surprisingly fun and artsy, if you ask me.

After a little welding session, we got back to work on the boat. We've been tackling a whole bunch of small projects lately, like aligning the prop strut and shaft, and deciding what to do about this leaky boom gallows. Seriously, who installs something like that without thinking about drainage? But hey, it's all part of the adventure.

One of the highlights of the week was taking Teaspoon out for a little practice session. Let's just say we definitely needed it. But hey, practice makes perfect, right?

And speaking of highlights, check out these new cushions we scored from a boat that was being hauled off. They might not be a perfect fit, but hey, they'll do for now. Plus, they add a pop of color to the cockpit.

Oh, and before I forget, we need your help with something. Should we keep the boom gallows or get rid of it? Head over to Facebook and let us know what you think.

Anyway, that's about it for this week. Join us next time when we tackle even more projects, including removing 850 pounds of ballast and take Teaspoon off the back of our davits. Yep, you heard that right. Until then, fair winds and smooth sailing, my friends.
