Boat Renovation Chronicles: The Quest for the Perfect Toilet

Ep 18 Composting head on a sailboat - https://youtu.be/iqtgoNq3ItA

Ahoy, fellow sailors!

Today, I'm excited to share with you the latest update from our boat renovation project. As we continue to transform our vessel into a comfortable and functional living space, we've encountered a few unexpected challenges along the way.

One of our recent tasks involved installing a new toilet onboard. Now, you might think this would be a straightforward endeavor, but let me tell you—it was anything but!

As we set out to find the perfect toilet for our boat, we quickly realized that not all toilets are created equal. After much research and deliberation, we settled on a Nature's Head composting toilet. But before we could celebrate our decision, we needed to ensure it would fit in the designated space.

With measuring tape in hand, we carefully assessed the dimensions of the area where the toilet would be installed. As we measured and remeasured, we couldn't help but wonder if the toilet would have enough clearance. After all, space onboard a boat is precious, and every inch counts.

After some trial and error, we finally managed to install the toilet. But our joy was short-lived when we discovered a crucial oversight—the toilet seat was too high! It was a moment of frustration, to say the least.

But being the resourceful sailors that we are, we quickly devised a solution. Enter the squatty potty—a clever contraption that would allow us to comfortably use the toilet without sacrificing precious space.

With the squatty potty in place, we were finally able to put the finishing touches on our new toilet. And while it may not have been the smoothest process, we couldn't be happier with the end result.

So here's to overcoming obstacles, finding creative solutions, and never giving up—even when things don't go according to plan. After all, that's all part of the adventure of boat renovation!

Until next time, fair winds and smooth sailing!

Tammy
